Professor Tohru Yoshikawa earned his doctral degree in 1992 from the University of Tokyo. He is now a professor of urban planning in the Department of Architecture and Building Engineering, Graduate School of Urban Environmental Sciences, Tokyo Metropolitan University. His study field covers Quantitative Urban Analysis, Application of GIS in City Planning, Location Analysis and Planning of Facilities, Land Use Analysis, Sustainability of Suburban Planned Communities.
